Kyra & Matt’s Beautiful Late August Wedding at St Oswald’s Guiseley & Chevin Lodge Hotel

Kyra and Matt’s wedding day was filled with warm sunshine, laughter, and heartfelt moments across two stunning Yorkshire venues. From the charming ceremony at St Oswald’s Church in Guiseley to the relaxed celebration at Chevin Lodge Hotel, every detail was captured with natural light and genuine smiles. This late August wedding perfectly blends classic elegance with joyful personality — just the kind of story I love to photograph.

Getting Ready at Chevin Lodge and Arrival at St Oswald’s Church

I arrived just in time to capture the last moments of prep at Chevin Lodge. The bridesmaids looked stunning in soft pink dresses, framed by the shaded lodge and peaceful woods behind them. Kyra and her father shared a heartfelt smile by the new Rolls Royce parked in the woods. Later, I headed to St Oswald’s Church, catching beautiful shots of the church bathed in late August sunlight. The groom and his groomsmen gathered for a fun photo at the church entrance as the bridesmaids arrived, glowing in the warm sunshine. Inside, quiet family moments unfolded with soft light falling on the guests, setting a calm and intimate tone before the ceremony began.

Arrival of the Bride and Ceremony at St Oswald’s Church

Kyra arrived with her father and two bridesmaids, all beaming with joy in the warm August sunshine. The vibrant colours of the day were perfectly captured with the church and the elegant Rolls Royce in the background. The ceremony began with the best man flashing a great smile as he stood by, while Kyra and her father shared a tender moment as they approached her groom. Proud smiles lit up the groom’s face as the congregation watched from the back of St Oswald’s. Kyra’s radiant smile greeted the camera as the ceremony unfolded — from the heartfelt exchange of rings to the signing, full of happy faces all around. After a hymn, the couple exited to the front of the church, sharing their first kiss outside in the lovely sunshine before warmly greeting their guests.

Church Garden Photos, Confetti Fun and Natural Couple Portraits

In the golden churchyard sunshine, Kyra and Matt gathered for a joyful family photo — joined by their two lovely dogs. Guests lined the pathway as the couple were showered with confetti, followed by a full group photo in the church gardens. We then captured some relaxed and natural family group shots. A light-hearted bouquet toss brought extra laughter, especially when the groom threw a spare bouquet to the gents — who comically scattered in all directions!

As guests began to make their way to Chevin, we took a few quiet moments with Kyra and Matt for some natural, personality-filled couple portraits around the church grounds. Later, once we arrived at Chevin, we snuck away for a few more intimate photos in the wooded grounds — finishing with a fantastic wide shot of all the guests waving from the balcony, perfectly reflected in the still water below.

Wedding Breakfast Details, Speeches and Evening Celebrations

As the wedding breakfast approached, I captured some of the elegant details — from the beautifully decorated cake to the wooden name place settings and ribbon-wrapped favours, all set against the lush green backdrop outside Chevin Lodge. Guests chatted happily on the patio before heading in, where Kyra kicked off the speeches by banging a gavel with a grin.

The father of the bride spoke warmly, followed by the groom — who jokingly unrolled extra-long notes to much laughter. The best man brought charisma and plenty of laughs too, closing out a brilliant set of speeches. After the meal, the celebrations flowed back outside. A few more guests arrived for the evening, kids played with bubbles, and we took some relaxed portraits of close family and friends.

As the sun dipped lower, the couple cut their cake and shared their first dances surrounded by cheers. I captured a few final family moments in the soft, casual evening light — a perfect end to a joy-filled day.
