Jane & Callum’s Wedding at The Priest’s House, Barden Tower
Dreaming of a romantic Yorkshire wedding? Jane and Callum’s beautiful day at The Priests House, Barden Tower, is full of inspiration. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, I loved capturing their natural, heartfelt moments against the historic backdrop of Barden Tower.
Jane and Callum’s wedding at The Priests House, Barden Tower was full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. A little rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the day — in fact, it made everything even more magical. The photos capture the warmth, joy, and romance of their Yorkshire wedding day perfectly.
A Warm Welcome and a Rainy Yorkshire Walk to The Priest’s House
The day began with a lovely welcome from the kind staff at The Priest’s House, one of the most scenic wedding venues in Yorkshire. I started by capturing a few charming details and the elegant ceremony room, ready and waiting.
I caught relaxed moments with the groom before the bride arrived — full of anticipation and joy — and then those important chats with the registrars. The short walk from the cottage to the venue was truly memorable: the bride, her sister, and their father made their way under a big white umbrella, with the stone path glistening in the soft August rain. A moment full of quiet smiles, love, and Yorkshire romance.
A Heartfelt Ceremony at The Priest’s House, Barden Tower
This was one of those ceremonies where the smiles start early — and don’t stop. The pageboy and young bridesmaid stole hearts as they led the way, proudly carrying the rings and flower petals. Moments later, the smiling bride entered on her father’s arm, lighting up the room as she walked down the aisle.
Guests in the front rows were full of personality, laughter, and love — their warmth setting the tone for what followed. As the groom read his vows, the bride’s expression said it all: emotion, pride, and connection. The pageboy held up the beautiful wooden ring box with all the seriousness of the moment, and the couple exchanged their rings with happiness and heartfelt smiles.
The first kiss was met with joyful applause — and followed by hugs, grins, and a sense that something truly special had just happened. A perfect Yorkshire ceremony in every way.
Signing the Register & A Joyful Exit
After the vows and the kiss, it was time to make it official — and I loved capturing those thoughtful expressions as Jane and Callum signed the register. The pageboy and best man had a moment of their own too, taking a closer look at the intricate wooden ring box with plenty of curiosity and charm.
At the signing table, the couple shared another smile (and a kiss!), and the young pageboy jumped into the photo with his usual cheeky grin. The guests beamed, cameras in hand, sharing the joy in the room.
The registrar proudly presented the marriage certificate, and with one more kiss for good measure, Jane and Callum were announced as newlyweds. They made their way out into the soft Yorkshire drizzle — smiling, holding hands, and ready to celebrate.
Confetti, Owls & Countryside Smiles
Out into the soft drizzle and the rolling Yorkshire countryside — the weather might’ve been dull, but the moments were anything but. I caught a lovely, impromptu smile from the bride and her dad just outside the venue, full of warmth and pride.
We gathered guests quickly for a fun confetti toss, tucked beside The Priest’s House. Flower petals flew, umbrellas popped open, and the whole group shared a quick burst of laughter as I took the big group photo.
Then came a surprise favourite — the owl experience! These majestic birds were a real treat for guests of all ages. Some held them confidently, others a little sheepishly (which made for even better photos). All the while, I worked naturally, capturing smiles, reactions, and the joy of something just a little bit different on a beautiful Yorkshire wedding day.
Warmth, Music & Magical Moments
Back inside The Priest’s House, the mood shifted to something cozy and intimate. Soft, warm lighting bathed the room while a talented guitarist played, adding a gentle soundtrack that felt like it belonged in a Lord of the Rings scene. The wedding breakfast room was stunning — from the beautiful, themed table placement chart to the elegant decor, everything reflected the couple’s personal style. Natural light streamed in, highlighting details like the carefully crafted wedding cake styled as a stack of books tied with a delicate blue icing ribbon.
Before the feast began, I quickly whisked the couple away for a short but sweet photo session outside — capturing them by the ancient ruins, in the tall grass, next to Dad’s vintage wedding car, and close-ups of the bouquet in the golden light. These relaxed, natural moments brought a perfect contrast to the elegant indoor setting.
Then, it was back inside to join the celebrations.

Cake-Cutting & a Beautiful First Dance
The evening celebrations began with a sweet moment as Jane and Callum cut their unique book-themed wedding cake, tied with that soft blue icing ribbon. They shared a laugh and a cheeky taste together — a lovely, light-hearted memory to capture.
Their first dance followed, with live music from the band setting the perfect mood. As always, I photographed the dance using only the beautiful natural and ambient light in the room — no flashes, no filters, just pure and timeless moments.
It was the perfect way to end a heartfelt day in the Yorkshire Dales. A wedding full of laughter, gentle emotion, and relaxed celebration — just the kind of day I love to photograph.
